How WWE Really Feels About CM Punk’s Title Match With Bron Breakker
CM Punk put the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Bron Breakker on the January 5th, 2026 episode of Monday Night RAW.
The match had a lot riding on it, especially since a change of hands would have truly cut short CM Punk’s championship run.
Fans had been waiting for The Best in the World to win a championship since he returned at Elimination Chamber 2023. His dethroning needs to be iconic.
WWE has ranked CM Punk vs. Bron Breakker
Soon after the championship match, the global juggernaut released a video compilation of Punk’s top 10 title defence matches. In that, The Best in the World vs. The Badass was ranked at number 3.
The first was awarded to John Cena vs. Punk at Night of Champions for the WWE Championship in 2012. The second was awarded to Chris Jericho vs. Punk at WrestleMania 28 for the WWE Championship.
Given that CM Punk has decades worth of matches, WWE picking the World Heavyweight Championship match against Bron Breakker as number 3 says volumes about how much faith the global juggernaut has in this rivalry.
Even though Bron Breakker lost the match, this does not seem to be the end of the rivalry between Punk and The Vision.
