How A TKO Decision May Have Led To Liv Morgan’s Injury
Could a decision taken by TKO have led to the serious injury suffered by Liv Morgan on Raw? A former WWE star seems to think so.
WWE was forced to abandon Liv Morgan’s Raw match against Kairi Sane in a matter of seconds as the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion suffered a dislocated shoulder. Sane was declared the winner of the match, but the injury could have more far-reaching consequences.
The previous week, WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella was involved in an altercation with Liv Morgan, which many believed was building to a match at the upcoming Evolution show in July. Reports suggest a former WWE star could be set for a huge return to be part of that match, but now it seems all these plans are up in the air.
Are TKO To Blame For Liv Morgan’s Injury?
Speaking on The Last Word, former WWE star Jonathan Coachman explained why he thinks TKO making the decision to cut the number of house shows led to the kinds of injuries suffered by Liv Morgan:
I had a room on the road, we worked on character development every single week, every single building, every single city. And we also had house shows to work on those same things. Right now, you’ve got guys clearly not working matches other than the ones they work.
They’re gassing out because their cardio is not where it needs to be. You’re seeing injuries because a lot of these talent just aren’t putting their bodies through what they need, you saw it with Liv [Morgan]. Injuries are a consequence of not working a lot of matches.
Under TKO’s ownership, WWE have cut house shows to the bone, instead focusing on only producing televised content. This means a lot fewer matches that WWE stars have to put their bodies on the line in.
