How Roman Reigns Inspired TNA Wrestler To Chase His Dreams
The inspirational words of Roman Reigns have motivated a TNA star to be the best wrestler he can be.
KC Navarro is a 25-year-old pro wrestler who started in the business as a teenager about a decade earlier. He is a part of the TNA roster as an ally of AJ Francis in a group known as First Class.
When Navarro first got into the pro wrestling business in the mid-2010s, Roman Reigns was a main event performer in WWE. At the time, Reigns was booed by the fans even though the company wanted him in the position of the top babyface.
It wasn’t until August 2020 when Roman Reigns turned heel to become the “Tribal Chief” when his career really took off and reached that next level of greatness.
In an interview with Josh Martinez of Z100, Navarro made it clear that if he could have a dream match in pro wrestling, it would be with Roman Reigns.
“I would love for it to happen one day. I don’t think it’ll be tomorrow, but I think one day I’d love to go against Roman Reigns. That’s my guy.
That’s the one guy that I feel like for me to have my story finished, cause he was the guy that inspired me as a kid, he sat me down and stopped this whole meet and greet for five minutes in Brooklyn to speak to me and motivate me. I feel like it has to be Roman Reigns.”
Roman Reigns Motivated KC Navarro To Believe In Himself
Navarro went on to talk about meeting Roman Reigns and what Reigns said to him during their chat.
“[I was] sixteen. I went up to him and I started crying because a year prior, I met him for the first time and he just told me to chase my dreams then. Then a few months later I started wrestling and then a year later, I won my first title. It was very motivating for me and when I met him that time, it was like all the emotions came and hit me at one time.
And then he made the woman stop the whole meet and greet to get me a chair, sit me down, and he was like, ‘Look man, a lot of people don’t believe in me now. They’re booing me out of the building, I’m positioned to be the guy, nobody wants to see me be the guy but I believe in myself. You have to believe in yourself because one day I’m going to be running this place and I believe one day, that if you truly believe in yourself, you’ll be taking my spot and you’ll be running it. So just keep going, keep pushing, and don’t let anything stand in your way.’
He obviously said other things but that was like the main thing I took from that. To see him now, he wasn’t lying to me when I was 16. I mean, the guy is the guy in our business, he is the number one. So, Roman Reigns is definitely that guy.”
After missing over a month of television, Roman Reigns returned on the March 10th episode of Raw to attack Seth Rollins and CM Punk after their Steel Cage match.
Roman Reigns will also be on WWE SmackDown on April 23rd in Bologna, Italy and CM Punk says he’ll be there too so that he can confront the Tribal Chief as the Road to WrestleMania continues.
