How Netflix Really Feels About WWE Raw’s Performance

WWE kicked off on Netflix with Raw on January 6 and as debate raged over viewer numbers the streaming giant has broken their silence on the show.

The January 6 2025 edition of Raw might have been the biggest in the show’s history as it debuted on Netflix. The Rock was on hand to crown the new undisputed Tribal Chief as Roman Reigns defeated Solo Sikoa while The Undertaker shared a moment with Rhea Ripley after Ripley unseated Liv Morgan as Women’s World Champion.

Netflix Thrilled By WWE Raw

WWE celebrated its viewership numbers on Netflix and now the streaming giant has had its own say at the Q4 2024 earnings call. Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos spelt out just how pleased his company was with WWE’s performance:

WWE is off to a great start. Our 1st week, we drew about 5,000,000 views, which is about 2 times the audience that Monday Night Raw was getting a linear television, pretty consistent with how we modeled it, how we’d hoped to build the audience for the league.

We also saw that the non-live viewing, so in the day after the live event, our viewing grew by 25%, mostly outside of the US time zones. So this is a new viewing in the UK and Canada, Mexico, Australia, Brazil, particularly big markets.

So we’re really thrilled to see how that’s going so far. In the US, our viewing of Monday Night Raw was as big as the Monday Night Raw viewing has been in 5 years. So we’re super thrilled about how that’s going and how that’s coming out.

It was on the earnings call that Netflix also revealed significant price rises meaning WWE fans in the US are going to have to fork out more to watch Raw every week.
