How John Cena Played A Major Role In Launching New TV Show

John Cena Reveals Which Match Finish He Felt Was

John Cena is part of the team behind a new show on HGTV.

The in-ring WWE career of John Cena ended on December 13th at Saturday Night’s Main Event when he tapped out to Gunther’s Sleeper in what was billed as Cena’s final match.

Now that he’s no longer part of WWE as a wrestler, Cena will likely be focusing on his acting career for movies and TV shows, as well as other ventures he may be involved in.

According to the LA Times, John Cena is heavily involved in a new HGTV show called “Junk or Jackpot?” The show is hosted by “Queer Eye” alum Bobby Berk, who told the LA Times that Cena picked Berk to be the host.

We always just kept that line of communication open, so then when this specific opportunity came about, Loren Ruch, the head of HGTV, who’s unfortunately since passed, reached out. He said, “Hey, John Cena’s created the show for us and you’re the top of his list of who he wants it to host it.”

John was a big “Queer Eye” fan, so I said yes. It shot here in L.A., which was really important to me. We were really lacking for entertainment jobs here in the city so that was a big plus for me to be able to bring jobs here to L.A. to all of our amazing crews.

John Cena Promotes New HGTV Show

On social media, John Cena mentioned the new HGTV show and claimed that the idea came up when he spoke to former WWE superstar Matt Cardona and his wife, Women’s US Champion Chelsea Green.

WWE Women’s US Champion Chelsea Green has revealed in the past that she and her husband, Matt Cardona, go on double dates with John Cena and his wife, Shay, so apparently, one of their discussions led to the idea of this HGTV show.

“My husband and I go on double dates with John and Shay every couple of months, and the knowledge that comes out of him is incredible. He totally has my back, and if I just continue to touch base with him, I’ll continue to get those little bits of information and advice that are so crucial when you’re on this journey of trying to figure out what you want to do next.”

Meanwhile, former WWE Women’s Champion Becky Lynch poked fun at John Cena’s retirement by saying that he let the fans down.
