What Did Hornswoggle Do In His WWE Career?
Hornswoggle will always be remembered by WWE fans as one of the shortest superstars in company history, yet he’s also somebody who had a long run while there. Hornswoggle was signed by WWE at 20 years old in 2006 and would go on to have a memorable ten-year run in the company.
The most memorable storyline that Hornswoggle was a part of was in 2007 when he was revealed to be the illegitimate son of Vince McMahon. The storyline was originally supposed to be for Mr. Kennedy, but an injury and out-of-ring issues changed that, so WWE went with Hornswoggle instead.
That illegitimate son story turned into the revelation that Finlay was really Hornswoggle’s dad, which was just a story because they weren’t related, but they were paired together for years with Hornswoggle pushed as a “leprechaun” of sorts due to Finlay’s Irish heritage.
In his later years in WWE, the beloved Swoggle was once again chosen in a major storyline as the Anonymous Raw GM (since WWE couldn’t think of anybody else) and also involved in stories with groups like 3MB, which he was a part of. To this day, many fans still remember Hornswoggle’s WeeLC match with El Torito as well.
At the WWE Great American Bash PPV in 2007, Hornswoggle won the Cruiserweight Title as his only championship in the company. The title, which had ties to WCW over a decade earlier, was deactivated at that point, which meant Hornswoggle was the last man to hold that version of the Cruiserweight Title.
