Hollywood Star Blasts Hulk Hogan Over Racist Comments
The controversy surrounding Hulk Hogan continues.
When WWE Raw debuted on Netflix on January 6th, Hulk Hogan was booed out of the building when he appeared alongside Jimmy Hart.
In recent years Hogan’s have been greeted by increasingly negative reactions, but despite this, he signed a new deal with WWE in 2024, and the sports entertainment giant now owns a share of his Real American Beer company. As a result, the logo appears on the Raw ring canvas.
Following Raw, there was a great deal of discussion around Hogan and exactly why he was booed so heavily. While some suggested it stems from his very public and repeated endorsement of Donald Trump, others have claimed Hogan’s past has more to do with it.
Actor Can’t Overlook Hulk Hogan Racism Scandal
During a new interview on Sways Universe, wrestling fan and actor O’Shea Jackson Jr. said he was among the thousands booing Hogan.
“I was one of them. I’ll show you the video. Me, Eric Andre and Wale was giving it to him.”
Jackson explained that his reaction stemmed from racist comments made by Hogan on video in 2007 which were subsequently leaked in 2015. In the footage, Hogan uses several racist slurs and admits he’s racist. Later that year more video leaked, this time from 2008, where Hogan used racist language and said he hoped he and his son wouldn’t be reincarnated as Black males.
“The n***a hating. The racism, bro. It’s just hard to forget how detailed that rant was. If you look up his rant, it’s very detailed…Bringing him out here, what did you think was gonna happen? We heard the music and it was like oh, hold on. They let him have it and that’s a pivotal moment in wrestling history. I’m glad I was there.”
During a recent interview, Mark Henry said Hulk Hogan never wanted to fix things after racist comments became public in 2015. At the time Hogan was removed from the Hall of Fame and his WWE contract was terminated.
However, three years later, he was reinstated and addressed the locker room at Extreme Rules 2018. Despite Hogan being backstage to apologise, several reports have suggested he took the chance to warn of people making secret recordings, rather apologise for using racist language.
Hulk Hogan became embroiled in a fresh racism scandal in August 2024 after making a series of offensive comments about United States Vice President Kamala Harris.
