Hiroshi Tanahashi Added To NJPW Dontaku Event
Despite being injured at this time, Hiroshi Tanahashi vows to wrestle on NJPW’s next big wrestling PPV.
Tanahashi has been sidelined with a rib injury since mid-April. He was originally supposed to wrestle on NJPW’s Collision in Philadelphia show but had to pull out because of said injury.
After the diagnosis came back as a broken rib, some were wondering how long Tanahashi would be out for. Luckily, the injury doesn’t appear to be a serious one as he has been cleared by NJPW’s doctors to complete at Wrestling Dontaku, which takes place on May 3rd.
Hiroshi Tanahashi is scheduled to team with Kazuchika Okada and Tomohiro Ishii against the trio of Minoru Suzuki, Ren Narita, and El Deperado, who are the current holders of the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Championships.
However, Ishii isn’t particularly happy about this announcement.
After Hiroshi Tanahashi was revealed to be the person named ‘X’ who was going to team with Okada and Ishii, Ishii simply stated, “If he’s on the team, I’m out”.
Ishii said in DC that if Tanahashi is in, he’s out, hmmm…. #njdontaku

Suzuki: This isn't a game! Put your life on the line when you come out there!
Ishii is furious at Okada's decision and has stormed off!
Okada: Whatever Ishii says, it will be Okada, Ishii and Tanahashi challenging!
