A popular former WWE Superstar could soon be back in the ring.

On May 2, Dakota Kai was among several WWE Superstars surprisingly released by the company. For Kai, it was the second time she had been let go, having previously left WWE in April 2022. However, just three months later, she was back alongside Bayley and Iyo Sky as Damage CTRL.

Although the star has remained out of the spotlight since her departure, that could be about to change.

As noted by Sean Ross Sapp during a new Fightful Q&A, Kai recently had new ring gear made, offering the biggest hint yet that she’s plotting her return to the squared circle.

The note comes after Kai recently opened up about how much she misses wrestling with her Twitch community. She said that while it’s been nice to step back, that doesn’t mean she misses what has always been a huge part of her life.

Although there’s no word on where the star might end up, Kai has extensive experience working in Japan and wrestled for STARDOM before signing with WWE.

Dakota Kai hasn’t wrestled since beating Ivy Nile on the March 24 edition of Main Event.

Ex-WWE World Champion Semi-Retired

While Kai is seemingly preparing for a comeback, Braun Strowman recently confirmed that he considers himself to be semi-retired. Strowman was also released by WWE for the second time back in May.

Strowman said he’s now focusing his attention on properly launching his acting career as he leaves wrestling behind. However, he was quick to praise the whole raft of impressive rising stars looking to make their mark in the ring.
