Highly-Rated Indie Star Already Under AEW Contract

Tony Khan Smiling AEW

A popular star will be staying with AEW.

On AEW Dynamite Maximum Carnage, Megan Bayne shocked fans by taking part in the Women’s Casino Gauntlet Match. The star hadn’t wrestled for the promotion since June 2023, having spent the previous two years appearing regularly on Dark and Dark: Elevation as well as in untelevised dark matches.

Bayne’s surprise appearance was her first on Dynamite, as she entered the gauntlet at number three, joining Kris Statlander and Jamie Hayter in the ring.

The match was ultimately won by Toni Storm who booked herself a shot at World Champion Mariah May at Grand Slam Australia on February 15th.

Following an injury, Bayne was encouraged to take bookings outside of AEW and she later became a regular for Stardom. During her absence, it was announced that Bayne was All Elite, but a report in 2024 suggested she had left the company.

However, according to a new update available via Fightful Select, one source suggested Bayne hadn’t left the company and had been under contract the entire time. This is despite sources close to the woman herself claiming she had been a free agent.

Bayne is now said to be signed to AEW for “quite some time” and is expected to remain on television moving forward.

Elsewhere on the show, Samoa Joe made a surprise return to AEW, coming to the aid of Hook and Katsuyori Shibata. The former World Champion had been missing since July 2024 and a rivalry with Chris Jericho.
