He’s Done It! CM Punk Finally Becomes World Heavyweight Champion
CM Punk has defeated Jey Uso to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
The Second City Saint earned a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship after beating Jey Uso and LA Knight in a Triple Threat number-one contender’s match on RAW a couple of weeks ago.
The following week, Jey Uso won a battle royal to book his place in the championship match at Saturday Night’s Main Event after Seth Rollins was stripped of the title earlier that same night due to injury.
CM Punk Has Finally Won The World Title Again
Tonight at Saturday Night’s Main Event, the two superstars went to battle. Both superstars exchanged momentum throughout the square-off. At one point, Punk hit his opponent with a GTS, but Uso quickly rolled out of the ring.
The former Bloodline member was also close to victory after delivering a Superkick, Spear, and then a Uso Splash to The Best in the World. However, the 47-year-old kicked out.
The two superstars even tried to beat each other using each other’s finishing moves, as Uso hit Punk with a GTS and the latter delivered a Spear to the former Bloodline members. Nevertheless, these attempts failed.
As Jey Uso went to deliver another Spear to his opponent, CM Punk countered before hitting the 40-year-old with the GTS twice to capture the World Heavyweight Championship.
