Henry Godwinn Recalls Former WWE Superstar's Bold Prank On The Kliq

Former WWE Tag Team Champion Henry Godwinn was recently interviewed on WSI – Wrestling Shoot Interviews to discuss his career in pro wrestling and the several gimmicks he portrayed over the years.

Godwinn – real name Mark Caterbury – also revealed a story about Savio Vega during the interview, relating to the Kliq and an incident on a flight headed towards a WWE international tour in the mid-90s.

We were going on the India or South Africa tour. It was that big humongous plane with the spiral staircase that goes up with 30 or 40 seats up there. We were all up there, mixed in with about five or six regular people.

During the flight, Savio Vega became the target of a prank by Razor Ramon and The 1-2-3 Kid, who were part of the notorious backstage group known as The Kliq. And in a bold move of revenge, Vega decided to turn the tables on his pranksters.

Savio had fallen asleep, and Razor and Kid had painted his face with a sharpie. When he woke up, he was hot – and they were now asleep. Somebody had told him what happened… He used a cigar cutter and cut their hair. When they woke up and leaned up, there were strands of hair on the seats.

The incident, while tense, did not escalate further and noted pranks among the wrestlers was a common occurrence.

Nothing happened but it was a little hairy, you know, being up in the air and all that going on. But yeah, I’ve seen some pretty funny bad ribs and runny ribs too.
