Health Update On AEW’s Matt Jackson Of The Young Bucks
Matt Jackson has been dealing with an injury that caused him to miss some time from the ring, but there is good news for fans of the Young Bucks.
The Young Bucks brother duo of Matt Jackson and Nick Jason are AEW founders that are also Executive Vice Presidents in the company. They are part of The Elite group with Kenny Omega that has won the AEW Trios Tag Team Titles on two occasions.
As far as tag team wrestling goes, many people consider The Young Bucks to be one of the greatest teams of this era or any era. While their style may not cater to everybody, the “Superkick Party” brothers have had a lot of success everywhere the have been. They are former two-time AEW Tag Team Champions as well.
Recently, Matt Jackson suffered a partially torn bicep injury. He noted last month that he wasn’t going to have surgery and was hoping “other forms of rehab” would help since surgery would several mean months on the shelf.
This past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, both of The Young Bucks were involved in the Kenny Omega-Jon Moxley Steel Cage match since they were fighting with Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta of the Blackpool Combat Club. While Matt had a big brace on his left arm, he was able to throw punches and get physically involved.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer provided this positive update on Matt’s health.
“Matt Jackson’s recovery from a partially torn biceps has obviously gone quicker than expected with all the stuff he’s done on television. He was actually cleared this week, a few weeks ahead of schedule and was bumping and running the ropes in the ring before the 5/10 show and has done resistance training for a few weeks.”
Matt Jackson last wrestled on March 15th, so it’s been nearly two months out of action for him, but he is cleared now as noted above.
