“Hangman” Adam Page AEW World Title Match Added To Forbidden Door PPV

The AEW World Title will be on the line at AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door as “Hangman” Adam Page faces a very familiar opponent.

“Hangman” Adam Page became a two-time AEW World Champion at All In Texas when he defeated Jon Moxley to end a long reign of terror where Moxley refused to display the gold publicly. In a rematch on the July 30th episode of Dynamite, Page beat Moxley again to put an end to that rivalry.

Also at AEW All In Texas, Maxwell Jacob Friedman won the Casino Gauntlet match, which means that MJF could execute the contract to challenge for the AEW World Title any time he wants.

For several weeks, Hangman tried to get MJF to execute the contract, while MJF was adamant that he would wait until the time was right.

In the opening segment on AEW Dynamite in Cincinnati, MJF continued to taunt Page, who told MJF that if he wanted a shot at the AEW World Title, then MJF should execute his contract for the title shot.

Adam Page shouted at MJF that he won’t take his shot because he is afraid. Page said that MJF wants a backup and an insurance policy because MJF knows he doesn’t have what it takes to take the AEW World Title from him.

After hearing what Hangman had to say, MJF was fired up.

“Listen to me you son of a bitch. Forbidden Door, the god damn contract!”

The fans chanted “You f**ked up” at MJF while announcer Taz wondered what MJF was doing because he just gave up the advantage that he had by being able to execute the contract whenever he wanted. Taz said that MJF got out-duped by the AEW World Champion.

Page reacted with a smile and told MJF:

“Then, Max, I will see you at Forbidden Door, dumbass.”

The match was made official by AEW, so at Forbidden Door on August 24th, “Hangman” Adam Page will defend the AEW World Title against a former champion in MJF. They are also both AEW originals who have a long history together.

MJF Warns “Hangman” Adam Page At The End Of AEW Dynamite

In the final minute of AEW Dynamite, “Hangman” Adam Page was about to be interviewed by Renee Paquette in the parking lot, but MJF attacked Page from behind. MJF threw Page into a car and punched Page repeatedly. MJF bounced Page’s head off another car hood a few times.

MJF told Hangman: “Remember when I said I was going to break you? You ain’t seen nothing yet.” MJF left the World Champion lying to end the show.
