Hall Of Famer Coming Out Of Retirement, In-Ring WWE Return Expected
Another big WWE comeback is on the cards.
Nikki Bella hasn’t wrestled regularly since 2018, but that could be about to change.
During Monday Night Raw’s debut on Netflix on January 6th, Bella was shown in the crowd, and said in an interview on the red carpet that she still considers WWE “home.” The comments surprised many after the star and her sister Brie left the company in 2023, announcing they would like to be known as the Garcia Twins going forward.
This caused chatter online with fans hoping it could signal a comeback for Nikki, and it seems those rumours are well founded.
As reported by Wrestle Votes, there have been “significant discussions” between the star and WWE, with sources expecting a return to action to come sooner rather than later.
We’re told significant discussions have taken place regarding a Nikki Bella return to action, with the strong expectation from multiple WWE sources that it will happen sooner rather than later.
Speculation is already running wild online that the former Divas Champion could return at the Royal Rumble.
Nikki Bella Announced WWE Retirement In 2019.
Nikki Bella underwent neck surgery in 2016, and although she wrestled for a further two years, those injury problems eventually caught up with her. In the Total Divas finale in 2019, the star announced her retirement, while revealing a cyst had been found on her brain. Although it was found to be benign, she decided to end her in-ring career.
However, she did get back in the ring one more time, spending a little under nine minutes in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match.
In an interview in May 2024, the reality star admitted she’d got the itch to return to wrestling, but suggested a comeback would be too difficult.
Speaking after her appearance on Raw, Nikki Bella opened up about her difficult relationship with WWE, referencing times when she’s spoken out against the company.
Nikki and Brie’s mother was also married to disgraced former WWE Executive John Laurinaitis, but in October 2024 Kathy Colace confirmed that the pair are now divorced.
In recent years Laurinaitis has been the subject of several allegations of sexual abuse and serious misconduct. In January 2024, he was named alongside Vince McMahon and WWE in a lawsuit filed by Janel Grant which contained allegations of sexual abuse and sex trafficking.
