Hall Of Famer Predicts When Cody Rhodes Will Regain WWE Title

A WWE Hall of Famer has a good idea for when Cody Rhodes should win back the WWE Title from John Cena.

The main event of WrestleMania 41 Sunday saw John Cena beat Cody Rhodes to win the Undisputed WWE Title. It was a match that saw rapper Travis Scott prevent Rhodes from winning, and Cena would go on to cheat to win.

While the Cena-Rhodes match won’t be remembered as a classic WrestleMania main event, it was historic because it was Cena’s record-breaking 17th WWE Championship. For Rhodes, it was an end to his first WWE Championship reign that lasted 378 days.

During his title reign, Cody Rhodes often took pride in being WWE’s quarterback and a leader in the locker room. He was also a key reason why WWE’s business has been so strong.

After winning the WWE Championship, Cena has made it clear to fans that he intends to be the last real WWE Champion and retire as the champion when he retires as a pro wrestler at the end of the year.

When Should Cody Rhodes Regain The WWE Title?

If you asked WWE fans who should beat John Cena for the WWE Title, they might give a different answer. It could be a former WWE Champion, such as CM Punk, Roman Reigns, or Seth Rollins, who has faced Cena before. Other options could include a new opponent for Cena, such as Gunther, Bron Breakker, or Jacob Fatu.

Regarding Cody Rhodes, many people believe he is the one who should win the title back from Cena as payback for his WrestleMania loss.

Jeff Jarrett, a WWE and TNA Hall of Famer, explained on his My World podcast that he thinks Rhodes should defeat Cena to win back the title.

“Is Cena going to carry it through December? I doubt it. Where do they want the most views or streams if you will, I’m assuming SummerSlam. I would give Cody — we got the May premium live event and the June premium live event and then SummerSlam is at MetLife. I’m talking out loud here, I think that’s the cadence.

I think you bring him back for June on TV and he stakes his claim that I’m getting the title back and you’ve got to run one opponent in there that makes sense — we’ll call him the beatable heel that has some credibility. Cody wins that and then he wins at SummerSlam and we’re off to the races and you have a fourth quarter babyface run of Cena and they keep counting down the dates and they keep counting down the cash register with all the merch.

He does his 10 to 12 week swan song on TV, but I think Cody, wherever TKO wants the most streams, you put him in that event and he is victorious.”

Since his WrestleMania loss, Cody Rhodes has been off WWE television, but he is staying busy with his family.
