Hall Of Famer Feels Chris Jericho’s WWE Return Is Fitting

Chris Jericho

Rumors of Chris Jericho returning to WWE have persisted since August 2025.

The speculations only gained more weight after it came to light that Jericho’s AEW contract had expired on December 31, making him a free agent.

Some reports also suggested that Netflix executives wanted to cash in on the momentum and have him appear on Raw’s first Netflix anniversary on January 5, 2026.

It was followed by Raw general manager Adam Pearce referencing “breaking down of walls” while announcing the line-up for the show.

Also, during CM Punk’s match versus Bron Breakker, commentator Corey Graves used the words “the learning tree,” which was Jericho’s stable in AEW.

But despite all the reports and teases, the 55-year-old was a no-show, as Punk retained his World Heavyweight Championship in the main event.

Earlier in the show, two more titles changed hands, with Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky being crowned the new Women’s Tag Team Champions and Becky Lynch becoming a 2-time Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

Booker T Calls Chris Jericho’s Return To WWE ‘Fitting’

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T shared his opinions on reports of Chris Jericho being WWE-bound in the near future.

Jericho enjoyed multiple stints in the Stamford promotion after initially debuting in 1999. Like Booker T, he was a talent on WCW before making the jump.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, the 60-year-old called Chris Jericho’s return ‘fitting.’

Hey man, it’s only fitting, you know, for Chris to end his career in the WWE. I’m sure he would be able to write his own, you know, ticket this time around, as far as, man, I got this many dates. We could squeeze me in here, whatnot. You know, he get paid this amount of money, and then go in the Hall of Fame and wrap this thing. [H/T: WrestlingNews.co]
