Hall Of Famer Urges Caution On WWE/TNA Relationship
A WWE Hall of Famer wants TNA Wrestling to do business their way.
On January 16th, WWE officially announced a multi-year partnership with TNA Wrestling. As noted in the press release the agreement is “aimed at creating unprecedented crossover opportunities within WWE and TNA programming for NXT Superstars and TNA Wrestling Stars.”
The two companies worked together extensively in 2024 with several TNA wrestlers, including Joe Hendry and Jordynne Grace appearing regularly in NXT. While Arianna Grace, Karmen Petrovic, Dante Chen, Wolfgang, and more went in the opposite direction.
The reaction to the announcement has generally been positive, but one Hall of Famer isn’t completely convinced.
Bully Ray Wary Of WWE/TNA Partnership
During his career, Bully Ray has worked extensively with both WWE and TNA, winning just about everything there is to win in the process. While speaking on Busted Open Radio, he gave his thoughts on the partnership now the two companies have made things official.
The veteran said that while it’s undoubtedly an exciting time, he does have some concerns.
“My concern, if I have to look at this from the other side, is will the WWE allow TNA to do business their way? Will they just say, ‘Listen TNA, you run your creative the way you want to run it.’ Because one of my concerns when we had the conversation a year ago, is that when we first saw the relationship was if the WWE were ever to buy TNA or be involved with it too much, would their creative now just take over TNA’s creative?”
In the days after the announcement, Triple H promoted TNA Genesis on social media, and the likes of Cora Jade, and Nathan Frazier & Axiom appeared on the show. At the event, Jordynne Grace lost what’s expected to be her final match in TNA before signing with the sports entertainment giant.
