Gunther’s WWE Character Allegedly At Grave Risk

WWE might be one serious misstep away from completely bombing Gunther’s character.

Gunther broke records as WWE Intercontinental Champion, and The Ring General recently reclaimed the World Heavyweight Championship when he put Jey Uso to sleep.

Next up for the Austrian star is a WWE Hall of Famer, as Goldberg returned to the company to confront him. A World Heavyweight Championship match between the two was then made for Saturday Night’s Main Event. WWE has since confirmed that this will be Goldberg’s final match in his career.

But could WWE do irreparable damage to Gunther if that match doesn’t go his way?

Speaking on Coach & Bro, former WWE writer Vince Russo claimed that the company is in very real danger of killing Gunther’s character after two major losses he thinks should never have happened:

Gunther should have never lost to Sami Zayn. Gunther should have never lost to Jey Uso. So now Gunther’s going into this match with all this baggage. And if you misbook him again, the dude’s gonna be dead in the water.
