GUNTHER’s Next Challenger Revealed On November 6th WWE Raw
GUNTHER’s record-setting Intercontinental Title reign will face its next threat when four WWE stars do battle to find a new number one contender.
GUNTHER captured the Intercontinental Championship back in June 2022 – before Vince McMahon retired due to serious allegations made against him – on SmackDown from Ricochet.
Over 500 days after that win, McMahon has returned, taken control, announced a takeover with Endeavor, and has apparently been sidelined again all the while The Ring General has reigned supreme with his title. Surpassing The Honky Tonk Man’s record long ago, GUNTHER is the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion in WWE history and his reign shows no sign of ending any time soon.
Four WWE Stars Set To Battle For The Right To Face GUNTHER
The Miz had been set to host an edition of Miz TV with GUNTHER as his special guest on Raw in Greenville, South Carolina but instead, Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci made their way to the ring. The Imperium duo had a back-and-forth with The Miz before GUNTHER finally revealed himself.
The Intercontinental Champion told The Miz that everything the two-time WWE Champion did was beneath him and that he did not respect him. Things soon broke down and Miz attempted to attack Kaiser and Vinci but was laid out by GUNTHER, with the numbers against him Miz walked away to fight another day.
Later in the night The Miz confronted Raw General Manager Adam Pearce about what happened and said he wanted a shot at the Intercontinental Title. Pearce noted there were other names in contention for a title shot which saw Bronson Reed enter.
Ricochet also confronted Pearce, unhappy about his loss to Dominik Mysterio to kick off the night and Pearce added him into the mix before also adding Ivar, who has impressed many backstage with his recent performances.
That means on the November 6th edition of Monday Night Raw, The Miz, Ricochet, Ivar, and Bronson Reed will clash in a Fatal Four Way match with the winner getting a shot at the Intercontinental Championship.
