Gunther on the mic

Gunther asks John Cena fans to “suck it up.”

The Cenation was not happy with how Cena’s last match ended. Fans wanted a fairytale ending. Some were even okay with him losing his last match with dignity. But a tap-out submission loss felt humiliating.

The WWE Universe expressed their anger on social media by calling out WWE CCO Triple H for the match booking. While others who were at Saturday Night’s Main Event booed Hunter and Gunther.

Gunther had a promo segment on WWE Raw after SNME, where he boasted about his victory. But the fans were so angry with him that they booed him loudly, and he could barely get a word out.

Gunther Calls John Cena’s Fans Naive

In a new interview with TMZ’s Inside The Ring, The Ring General was asked to describe how he handled all the hate and rage from the WWE Universe after he beat Cena.

Gunther blamed the fans for being delusional and naive enough to think that Cena would never give up in his life.

Suck it up. In German, we got a saying that says, “Everything’s got an end, but a sausage got two.

So, if you’ve been naive enough to think that all of that never give up stuff is going to hold up forever, then yeah, blame yourself. You’ve been naive enough. (From 4:07)

After the SNME show ended, Gunther had to be escorted out with a security backup because the fans hounded him outside the building with loud boos and “F** You Gunther” chants.

Talking to TMZ, Gunther also shared his experience facing the angry fans outside the building after he retired Cena.

He stated that he always gets some heat from the fans whenever he leaves the venues, but he could feel an intense tension in the air when he left the Capital One Arena building on Saturday, December 13.
