Gunther’s World Title Reign Allegedly Ending Very Soon

Gunther

Gunther will face Goldberg at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12th, 2025.

The WWE Hall of Famer has challenged The Ring General for the World Heavyweight Championship for his retirement match.

Of course, this raised questions about how the global juggernaut planned to end the match without hurting Gunther or Goldberg’s credibility.

Former WWE writer believes WWE does not care about Gunther

On WWE RAW, Seth Rollins put the World Heavyweight Champion on notice. He warned the World Heavyweight Champion that he could use the Money in the Bank contract on him.

While speaking on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge’s Legion of RAW, Vince Russo claimed that WWE was going to have Goldberg dethrone The Ring General, and then have Seth Rollins cash-in against Da Man for the title. This would enable the 58-year-old to have his victory while ensuring he does not retire with the title, leaving Gunther with nothing.

.That’s what I think is going to happen. I really do, I think that’s what’s going to happen because that kind of protects Goldberg after he has a knockdown dragout with Gunther, and then Seth catches him. Now Goldberg got his big win, I don’t know what it does for Gunther, I mean don’t get me [wrong] but obviously they’ve [creative team] showed [sic] us they don’t care what anything does to Gunther. I mean, they’ve made that clear, but I do believe Chris [Featherstone] that’s what they’re going to do.

Fans had raised questions about WWE’s booking of The Ring General when both Jey Uso and Sami Zayn dethroned him.
