Why Gunther Won’t Lose World Title To CM Punk At WWE SummerSlam
CM Punk has the chance to win his first world championship since returning to WWE in 2023 at SummerSlam 2025.
There’s heavy speculation among the fans about who is going to be the winner of Gunther vs. CM Punk at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
However, both superstars are strong and worthy, and whoever loses will have their credibility hurt even if it’s by a margin. On the other hand, speculations suggest that Seth Rollins will return during this match to cash-in the Money in the Bank contract.
Former WWE writer explains why CM Punk will not win at SummerSlam 2025
On Wrestling with Freddie, Freddie Prinze Jr. explained that The Best in the World wants the WWE Championship more than the World Heavyweight Championship. Keeping that in mind, Gunther will retain at SummerSlam, and at some point in the coming years, WWE will create a storyline for Punk and the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Ain’t no way he’s losing. He’s an awesome champ. I don’t think the World Heavyweight Championship is the title that CM Punk wants. I think he wants that WWE Championship one more time. And there’s no story for that yet. He’s going to be around or his plan I think is to be around a couple more years. So that can happen next year when John Cena’s story is over. Um, he can pursue that that and that’ll be a good story to tell. But this story, the victor is going to be Gunther. He’s going to win.
Also the likes of Sami Zayn and Jey Uso have defeated The Ring General, which wasn’t good for him. Recently, he defeated Goldberg at Saturday Night’s Main Event, and WWE should continue this winning streak for the World Heavyweight Champion.
