Gunther Will Allegedly Lose World Title To 3-Time Champion

Gunther will put the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Goldberg at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12th, 2025.

The WWE Hall of Famer returned to the company a couple of weeks ago on WWE RAW, and challenged The Ring General for the championship.

This is supposed to be Goldberg’s retirement match, raising questions about whether he will lose his last match or retire with the championship.

Gunther will lose the title but not to Goldberg

Analysts and experts have noted that The Ring General should not lose the championship to Da Man, considering Sami Zayn and Jey Uso have already defeated him at crucial matches and dethroned him.

However, Goldberg losing his last match isn’t ideal as well. The only way around it is if Seth Rollins cashes in the Money in the Bank contract.

Bill Apter laid out a situation on The Wrestling Time Machine, where Goldberg wins the match, but ultimately it’s The Visionary who walks away with the World Heavyweight Championship.

Goldberg’s gonna beat Gunther. It’s gonna be pretty quick. Goldberg is gonna get hurt. Seth Rollins is gonna come out with the Money in the Bank thing. Beat Goldberg, pin him. Goldberg gets his championship like he wanted to in retirement, and Seth Rollins is the champion.

Seth Rollins has already teased cashing in against The Ring General already; hence, a cash-in at Saturday Night’s Main Event is possible.
