UFC Hall Of Famer Names GUNTHER As Favorite Wrestler Ever

GUNTHER WWE Intercontinental Champion

A UFC legend has chosen GUNTHER as his favorite wrestler due to the physical style of the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion.

Daniel Cormier is a lifelong WWE fan who happens to be a multi-time UFC World Champion, UFC Hall of Famer and announcer who isn’t afraid to share his opinion.

While Cormier has never wrestled in WWE, he did serve as the referee in the Fight Pit Match at the Extreme Rules 2022 PLE between the winner Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins.

As a fan of WWE for most of his life, Cormier has seen it all and apparently, is a huge fan of the current Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER. It’s easy to see why since GUNTHER is the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time. Part of the reason that the talented Austrian is so respected by fans is because of the amazing matches he has regularly, which certainly appeals to a fighter like Cormier.

Who Did GUNTHER Pass On Daniel Cormier’s Favorite Wrestler List?

During an appearance with his good friend Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Cormier explained why GUNTHER has moved ahead of his WWE Hall of Famer “Macho Man” Randy Savage as his new favorite wrestler.

“My boy Gunther, he’s so good. He’s my favorite wrestler of all time. He’s my favorite. He has surpassed the Macho Man.”

“I love Seth, but Gunther…I got into a fight a while back with Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks because they were doing too many flips. It really pissed me off, all the flips. I was like, ‘What about a bodyslam? A splash?’ Gunther’s moves are a sleeper hold, a powerbomb, and he does this splash off the top. It’s awesome.”

GUNTHER’s last televised Intercontinental Title defense was at Survivor Series when he defeated The Miz in a competitive match. The Miz wanted a rematch on the following edition of Raw, but the Intercontinental Champion declined that request.
