Gunther Seemingly Suffers Knee Injury At WWE Live Event

Gunther

Gunther’s stature inside the ring is such that he appears invulnerable.

But accidents do happen, and depending on their seriousness, a wrestler may or may not be left out of a storyline for an extended duration.

The Ring General recently faced WWE veteran Goldberg at Saturday Night’s Main Event XL, where he defended his World Heavyweight Championship.

In an incredible physical match, the Austrian came out on top after choking out his 58-year-old opponent.

While Gunther walked to the back with his head held high, his physical condition described a different story.

The 37-year-old recently took to Instagram to share a story post about a potential injury, captioned “Aftermath of a title match.”

In the video, he can be seen limping with a tape tied around his right thigh. The video snippets also show him with a physiotherapist backstage.

The story ends with Gunther leaving the arena while sarcastically berating the audience and America, in general.

Gunther To Face CM Punk At SummerSlam

Amidst his injury scare, Gunther is scheduled to defend his title against CM Punk at SummerSlam.

Punk competed in a gauntlet match on RAW, with the winner receiving a title shot at ‘the Biggest Party of the Summer.’

Bron Breakker ran the gauntlet with his other opponents also including Penta, LA Knight, and Jey Uso.

Breakker dominated the contest, defeating Penta, Knight, and Uso, but failed to get the best of Punk, who laid him out and pinned him after hitting a GTS.

CM Punk will appear on the July 21st RAW episode to talk about his title opportunity at the upcoming PLE. Whether or not Gunther appears is the question.
