Gunther Makes 4-Word Statement Before John Cena’s WWE Retirement Match
John Cena will face Gunther in his final match on December 13th, 2025, at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The Ring General defeated LA Knight in the final round of the ‘Last Time Is Now’ tournament on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown.
Fans are hoping to see John Cena win his final match, but some would argue that it takes away from passing the torch. In fact, Never Seen 17’s father had brought up the question of why a superstar must put over another on his way out, which Cena did not appreciate as such.
Gunther has four words before facing John Cena
The Ring General needs the victory to establish his dominance on the roster once again. With his title loss, he needs another accolade, and retiring The Leader of Cenation is a huge one.
However, his message isn’t about how he plans to retire The Champ, but about how he is the only deserving one to step inside the ring with John Cena for the final match.
The only deserving one.
