Gunther Needs Security Backup After John Cena’s Heartbreaking Tap-Out At WWE SNME
Gunther made John Cena tap out in his final WWE match.
The one thing that the WWE Universe dreaded the most happened on Saturday night.
The Ring General forced Cena to tap out to his sleeper hold in the main event on Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.
The Cenation was in utter shock after they witnessed their hero lose his last WWE match via tapout.
Fans felt gutted after seeing this. Some may have even shed a tear or two. But things got much worse after the show ended.
As Gunther made his way to his tour bus following SNME, he was greeted by some angry fans.
They booed him hard for making Cena tap out during their match.
Thankfully, security was there to prevent anything from happening as they safely escorted the WWE star back to his bus.
There were even some “FU Gunther” chants amidst all the chaos.
Gunther knew that he’d have to face massive heat from the WWE Universe when and if he made Cena tap out during his farewell bout.
And he was ready to take in all the heat and become the most hated man in sports entertainment.
Why John Cena Lost His Final WWE Match Against Gunther?
Speaking on the SNME post-show panel, Triple H addressed the fan backlash over Cena losing his last WWE match.
He stated that Cena always believed in giving back to the business, and his loss against Gunther was the biggest example of this.
There are time honored traditions in our business. John has said the right thing his entire career, that it’s about leaving this place better than the way he found it.
There’s no way for people to understand that in the moment, but you do what is right for the business, you do what is right for this industry.
John has done that his entire career and I’m going to do that my entire career. I will do what I believe is right for this business and it just is what it is.
I understand that’s tough for people to understand but it’s part of what we do, that is the role what we have chosen.
If you were to say what will Cena do on his way out… He will put somebody over on the way out.
He will leave this better than he found it and he will make somebody on his way out, that is what John does, that is what John has always done.
I know people will criticize this and people will look at it, people will talk about this moment right here. I’ve got big shoulders I can handle it. [H/T: WrestleTalk]
