WWE veteran believes Gunther could become a modern-day Legend Killer.

The Australian wrestler retired Goldberg at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12, 2025. He’s now set to retire John Cena on Saturday, December 13, at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Retiring two WWE legends is a great feat, and WWE legend Bully Ray believes The Ring General will add more such accomplishments under his belt in the near future.

Speaking on the Busted Open Radio podcast, Ray predicted that the 38-year-old star might also retire AJ Styles and Chris Jericho.

If that happens, he could turn into a modern version of The Legend Killer Randy Orton, who crushed some of the greats in the industry during his peak era.

“So Gunther retires AJ Styles, Gunther retires Jericho, Gunther retires John Cena, Gunther retired Goldberg.

He turns into the modern-day legend killer. And oh, by the way, that worked for one other guy also

AJ Styles has publicly said he plans to retire in 2026. He explained that he wants to step away before his body breaks down and before fans see a version of him that doesn’t feel like “AJ Styles,” and he also wants more time with his family.

Meanwhile, Chris Jericho has not set a retirement date yet and is instead teasing at least one more run in 2026, possibly with a WWE retirement tour if he leaves AEW.

Jericho’s AEW contract is believed to run through the end of 2025, and he has said that he is not done with wrestling yet and fans will see him wrestling somewhere in 2026.

Reports say WWE has offered him a retirement storyline/retirement tour if he comes back to the Stamford-based company.
