Gunther Reacts After His Crowning Achievement Over John Cena
Gunther did the unthinkable on Saturday.
At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, The Ring General forced John Cena to tap out, something he had not done in over two decades.
Since making LA Knight submit on last week’s SmackDown, the 38-year-old made it his objective to inflict similar levels of punishment on the 17-time World Champion. And he did.
He dominated most of the match, hitting Cena with a string of chops and clotheslines that left him winded.
He then put the 48-year-old in a Sleeper submission, only to notice that there was still strength left in his opponent. He then laid a barrage of elbows around Cena’s neck before applying the Sleeper hold again.
With no room to escape, the leader of the Cenation gently tapped, as the fans gasped in shock.
Gunther’s victory seemingly gave WWE a new tagline, which was uttered by several individuals then on: Pro wrestling destroys sports entertainment.
The victor took to his Instagram to express a similar sentiment in a post, which he captioned ‘Pro Wrestling > Sports Entertainment.’

John Cena Fan Lashes Out At Gunther
Gunther did not have it easy on Saturday—in the ring or outside.
A video shared online shows a child, dressed in John Cena’s colors, yelling at The Ring General, who gave it back in his own way, calling the kid uncivilized.

John Cena putting over the Austrian wrestler has practically given the latter the key to the city that is WWE.
In the coming weeks, he is expected to be presented as the company’s top heel and go after the World Heavyweight Championship held by CM Punk sooner than later.
