Gunther May Target 6-Time World Champion Upon WWE Return

Gunther WWE

Gunther has remained on the sidelines due to a legitimate injury.

It was reported prior to SummerSlam that The Ring General had issues with his nose and was considering undergoing surgery.

At SummerSlam, he lost his World Heavyweight Championship to CM Punk, which Seth Rollins soon won after cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on Punk.

During his time away from WWE, Gunther celebrated his 38th birthday. While the timeline on his return remains a mystery, a WWE personality has predicted he might return and challenge Seth Rollins.

On the latest episode of his podcast Notsam Wrestling, Sam Roberts answered a fan query, who wished to know whether the Austrian will get a rematch or will he face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42.

I think Gunther vs. Brock WrestleMania 42 is a match that I wanna see badly. I would love it if that’s where it’s going. Rematch clauses are not guaranteed. Shane McMahon took those away years ago. So, those don’t exist anymore. You know, I could see Gunther coming back as a baby face and going after Seth Rollins. I mean, it also depends on when he’s getting back. He’d be a great Rumble return. Gunther Not A Fan Of Celebrity Visitors

WWE’s collaboration with Hollywood began in the 1980s, famously dubbed as the Rock ‘n’ Wrestling connection.

Since then, celebrities have been a part of multiple WWE tapings, even participating in matches to defeat full-time wrestlers as part of the storyline.

During his appearance on The Undertaker’s Six Feet Under podcast, Gunther claimed that he was not in awe of the Hollywood culture and couldn’t care less about its visitors.

No, not really. I never had that. Yeah, I could never, I could never really… I don’t know, follow that. I wasn’t… Obviously there are people you look up to and be like, ‘They’re cool, maybe I can learn something.’

But also, like, I’m usually that kind of guy—when I don’t know, somebody’s backstage, like somebody famous is a visitor and stuff—and they look for people like, ‘Hey, can you meet him?’

I’m like, ‘Please ask somebody else.’ I can do it for the company, like have a little chit-chat and blah blah blah, of course. But if it’s personal to me, it’s like… maybe take somebody that would enjoy it.
