Is Gunther Upset About Not Main Eventing WWE WrestleMania 41?

The World Heavyweight Champion Gunther has given his unfiltered thoughts about not being in a WrestleMania 41 main event match.

As the World Heavyweight Champion for eight months, it would make sense if Gunther was in one of the main event matches at WrestleMania 41. However, that’s not going to happen.

It has been announced by WWE that the Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and CM Punk match will main event WrestleMania 41 Saturday while Cody Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Title against John Cena in the WrestleMania 41 Sunday main event.

After Jey Uso won the Men’s Royal Rumble match, WWE announced that he was going to main event WrestleMania 41. However, that’s not really going to happen. It’s not the first time that has happened for a Royal Rumble winner because it has been happening for two decades, and it will likely continue in the future. Jey went on to pick World Champion Gunther as his opponent.

During an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Gunther said he wasn’t stressed about the WrestleMania main event snub.

“I’m not [disappointed]… At the end of the day, those are big achievements, but that’s nothing I want to stress about.

I don’t think if I never main event WrestleMania, that’s gonna make a difference about how proud or happy I’ll be about my career.”

CM Punk Praised Gunther After WWE Live Event Match

There has yet to be a televised match between the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther and CM Punk, but they did face each other on March 29th in Vienna, Austria, which is Gunther’s home country. After the match, Punk had kind words to say about Gunther, who would go on to sing for his fellow Austrians.

“This man is a champion for a reason, he represents championship-calibre people, hard-working, blue-collar, salt of the earth, Vienna pride. Congratualtions champ, I will see you down the line.

“And now, he’s going to sing some folk songs with you people.”
