Gunther Looking To Learn From Randy Orton
Gunther thinks he and Randy Orton aren’t too far apart.
The rivalry between Gunther and Randy Orton stretches back to King and Queen of the Ring when the Austrian got one over on his rival. With the victory, Gunther became King of the Ring and the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Title.
He duly went on to become World Champion, but as Triple H promised, he’d meet Orton one more time.
At Bash In Berlin, Gunther defeated Randy Orton for a second time, on this occasion with the referee stopping the match with The Viper trapped in a sleeper hold. The bout was a typically hard-hitting affair with both men popular with the German crowd.
Gunther Is A Big Fan Of Randy Orton
After the match, Gunther sat down with the Gorilla Position and discussed what makes Orton so special.
“He’s more experienced than anyone, and I always think, first of all, a good wrestler stands out. When he enters the room, people turn their hats, and I think Randy is that kind of guy that wherever he is in the world, I think he will stand out and pop out.
All that combined with his high-class skill in that ring and understanding efficiency in what we do out there and understanding the meaning of the little things out there. I think that’s what makes him stand out.
But on the other hand, I also think that’s something that makes myself stand out. So I think wrestling-wise, we’re not that far apart from each other as we were personally the last weeks. So yeah, there are a lot of guys out there that I can learn something from, but Randy is definitely one of those guys.”
Elsewhere on the show, there were big wins for CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair, and The Terror Twins.
