Gunther Made John Cena “Tap Like A Little B****”
Gunther has not held back on his first appearance since ending the career of John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The legendary in-ring career of John Cena came to an end on December 13th, 2025, at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Cena had made clear at the start of 2025 that this was his final year as an in-ring competitor, although WWE ended up asking him to do substantially less than he originally offered.
In his final match, Cena went one-on-one with Gunther for the first time ever after The Ring General won a 16-man Last Time Is Now tournament to earn the honour of sharing the ring with the 17-time WWE Champion.
Gunther made clear he wanted to make Cena tap out, something not seen in over 20 years from the man who spent a career preaching “Never give up.” That’s perhaps why there was a stunned silence in Washington, D.C. when Cena meekly tapped out to the sleeper hold with a smile on his face.
Such was the fan anger at the finish that Triple H was showered with “You f*cked up” chants when he led the locker room to ringside to pay tribute to Cena.
Gunther Gloats Over John Cena Submission
Now, on the December 15th edition of Raw, Gunther has let the world know exactly what he thinks of how that match played out. The former World Heavyweight Champion’s message was clear as he told fans:
I did what I said I would do. I made John Cena give up. And when he gave up, he tapped out like a little b*tch.
I made John Cena tap out like a little b*tch. It is my time now. I will forever be the man that made John Cena give up.
Gunther did not get a warm reception backstage, however, as Raw General Manager Adam Pearce kicked him out of the building. On his way to leaving, the Austrian star’s next rival was heavily teased.
