Gunther’s victory over John Cena is going to be good for his career, provided fans accept that The Ring General is capable enough to tap out The Champ.

The WWE Universe continues to believe that John Cena’s final match should have ended differently. Tapping out doesn’t seem like the send-off he deserves.

Now, The Ring General benefited from it. He had previously retired Goldberg and now John Cena. He truly has become the new legend killer.

Gunther reveals the importance of defeating John Cena

The former World Heavyweight Champion appeared on TMZ’s Inside The Ring and claimed that defeating Never Seen 17 was the most meaningful victory in his career and that there is nothing else he can compare it to.

It was definitely the biggest with the most meaningful win, maybe of my career, or the win with the biggest reaction afterwards. Uh, that I can definitely. Um, I think it’s hard to compare to anything else because John Cena has been such a legendary figure in the WWE, but the wrestling world in general. It’s like really hard to compare.

The whole day I could tell people were really tense and very serious about everything. It almost felt like more important than WrestleMania to a lot of people backstage, if I can compare it to that. And yeah, and it felt like, I mean I knew what I was going to do anyway. So the clock was ticking. It almost felt like a time bomb to explode at the end of the day. And yeah, well, it did. And uh yeah, thankfully to my advantage.
