Gunther Fires Brutal Shots At Goldberg In John Cena Comparison

Gunther made some interesting remarks when he was asked to compare WWE legends Goldberg and John Cena.

The former 2-time WWE World Champion Gunther has gained a reputation this year as a Career Killer after beating Goldberg and John Cena in their final WWE matches.

It was on July 12th that Gunther, the World Champion at the time, beat Goldberg in what was billed as Bill’s retirement match.

Thanks to his victory in The Last Time Is Now Tournament, Gunther earned the right to face John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th.

Even though the match took place five days ago, WWE fans are still talking about the finish of Cena’s last match because many of them didn’t like that Cena tapped out to Gunther’s Sleeper, while others understood the finish as Cena going out with a smile on his face because it was the end of his in-ring career.

Gunther Doesn’t Think Goldberg Was On John Cena’s Level

While speaking to TMZ Sports, Gunther was asked about the differences between facing Goldberg and Cena. In doing so, the powerful Austrian had some harsh words about the WWE Hall of Famer, Goldberg, while also going on to praise Cena.

“Goldberg was way more limited than John was, and John was just a better wrestler over his whole career. It’s not like a dig to Goldberg, he didn’t get famous by putting on in-ring master classes, that was never his thing. It was a very different situation.

“But also the magnitude of it. Obviously Goldberg is a big name but it’s not comparable to what John Cena represents, or the following he has and what he carries with him (and) the connection that people have to him, so it’s hard to compare.”
