Gunther Finds Out Next WWE World Title Challenger
Gunther failed to capture the Crown Jewel title and now he knows he’s going to face a very stiff test to hold on to his World Heavyweight Title as a new number one contender was found on Raw.
At Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, Gunther lost out to Cody Rhodes to become the first-ever men’s Crown Jewel Champion in a battle between the WWE Champion and the World Heavyweight Champion.
But with gold still around The Ring General’s waist, there was little time to commiserate as a number one contender’s match featuring four WWE stars was made for the 4th of November edition of Raw with the winner claiming a shot at Gunther’s title.
Gunther Running It Back With Title Rival
The bout featured three former World Heavyweight Champions in Seth Rollins, Sheamus, and Damian Priest as well as Dominik Mysterio who earned his way into the match by defeating Priest – with more than a little help from The Judgment Day – the week prior.
Bronson Reed attacked Seth Rollins – as well as Priest and Sheamus for good measure – during the bout following Rollins’ win over the star at Crown Jewel as their feud looks to continue. In the end, Damian Priest pinned Dominik Mysterio to pick up the victory and ensure he’ll have the chance to right the wrong from SummerSlam where he lost the World Heavyweight Title to Gunther.
