Gunther Makes Surprising Comments About Jey Uso After Title Win
Gunther gave Jey Uso his flowers for his World Heavyweight Championship reign.
Gunther won his second World Title on WWE RAW this week. After ending Jey Uso’s 51-day championship reign, The Ring General said nice things about him on RAW Recap.
This week’s episode of WWE RAW saw Gunther beat Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship. It looked like the match would go either way during, but in the end, The Ring General choked out his opponent with the Sleeper Hold to begin his second reign as champion.
The new World Heavyweight Champion appeared on RAW Recap to address his win. While talking about the match, he surprisingly gave Jey Uso his due. The statement from the former King Of The Ring was a surprising nod to the former champion’s dedication because he never accepted him as a true contender for the title.
“[Did you feel like you were beating a World Heavyweight Champion?] Oh yeah, for sure. I’ve said it before; I’ve got to give it to Jey Uso. I think everybody that is heading into a match with me is considered the underdog, especially Jey before WrestleMania 41, because I’ve beaten him 3-4 times before that… And I’ve got to give it to him; I think he stepped up. I think he fulfilled a lot of hopes and expectations that people had in him.
Gunther Addressed Rumors Of Goldberg’s Appearance On WWE RAW
The WWE Universe was shocked by Gunther’s win on WWE RAW. The new champion addressed the win and said that the fans were wrong to be shocked, as he was always going to win the title. He said that many expected the match to end with either a Seth Rollins interference or a Goldberg run-in. He commented that it wouldn’t have happened for a reason.
“I guess going in, it was seen as a nothing match, just a Mania rematch, and everyone was speculating that Seth Rollins was gonna do something with his briefcase, or that Goldberg was gonna show up to finally kick my a**. In reality, when I was world champion the first time, all those big names stayed away from me—and for good reason. Ever since I arrived in WWE, I’ve been the most dominant guy around here.”
