Gunther Breaks Silence On Facing WWE Legend

Gunther is in the final of the King of the Ring tournament and he now knows that he’ll be going up against one of WWE’s modern-day legends.

Gunther has already smashed a decades-long record in WWE and now he’s hoping to add the King of the Ring title to his impressive CV. The Austrian star booked his place in the final of the tournament by defeating Jey Uso on Raw and on SmackDown in Saudi Arabia, he found out who he’ll be facing for the crown.

SmackDown saw Randy Orton face Tama Tonga in the semi-final of the King of the Ring with Orton picking up the win. WWE revealed that the King of the Ring winner will receive a massive prize other than the crown raising the stakes of the upcoming Gunther vs. Orton match substantially.

Gunther Came To WWE For Challenges Like Randy Orton

Speaking in a SmackDown Exclusive, Gunther addressed his first-ever one-on-one match against Orton and said he has to beat a legend to become King of the Ring:

I sure will face Randy Orton tomorrow in the finals, and what an opportunity it is, right? What a chance. I came here to do this. I came here to be in the ring with the best of the best, and Randy is maybe one of the biggest legends that ever came out of WWE.

But to become a legend myself, I gotta beat a legend tomorrow, and yeah, tomorrow, The Ring General will officially become the King of the Ring.
