After CM Punk won a high-stakes gauntlet match on the July 14 episode of RAW, defeating stars like Penta, LA Knight, Jey Uso, and Bron Breakker, Gunther was seen watching from a VIP suite. The Ring General did not speak during the show, but his actions afterward said plenty.

Gunther Calls Out CM Punk After Gauntlet Match Victory

On his Instagram story, Gunther posted a short clip of Punk’s win and simply captioned it, “Let’s find out if he is the Best in the World.” It was a rare, sharp dig from the typically stoic champion and one that’s already fueling speculation about the tone of their upcoming clash.

CM Punk’s journey to this match wasn’t easy. The gauntlet match tested his endurance and grit, especially with opponents like Breakker pushing him to his limits. Yet, Punk stood tall by the end, earning himself the right to challenge Gunther at one of WWE’s biggest shows of the year.

Gunther, for his part, has been an unstoppable force since capturing the World Heavyweight Championship on the June 9 episode of Raw. At Saturday Night’s Main Event, WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg attempted to steal the spotlight and the title, but came up short in a clash that ended in emotional defeat for the legend.
