Gunther Addresses Relationship With Ex-Partner After Split

Gunther finally opened up about his relationship with his former partner.

The Ring General and Ludwig Kaiser, formerly known as Imperium, split on WWE TV several months ago. While Gunther recently recaptured the World Heavyweight Championship from Jey Uso, his former partner has not been involved in any storyline in recent weeks.

After weeks of absence from television, Kaiser finally resurfaced on Monday Night RAW last week, appearing in the background during a backstage segment.

In a recent interview with The Masked Man Show, Gunther was asked about his current relationship with Kaiser. The Austrian star stated that they are on “very good” terms and just attended a friend’s wedding together in Italy.

Oh, very good (GUNTHER replied when asked how things are with him & Ludwig Kaiser). We just been to Italy last week. We were invited — at a friend’s wedding. It’s very nice. It’s all good. [H/T: Fightful]

Could Gunther Lose World Heavyweight Championship At Saturday Night’s Main Event?

The Ring General is set to defend his World Heavyweight Championship next month against Goldberg at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The match comes after the two almost had a physical altercation last October at Bad Blood.

During a recent RAW Recap podcast, WWE Superstar Big E claimed Gunther losing the title to the 58-year-old WWE Hall of Famer is “very possible.”

It is very possible [that Goldberg beats Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship], it’s on the table. And look, for a lot of people who are detractors, feel how you wanna feel.

But listen to that crowd reception in Green Bay. People loved him [Goldberg]. They were there for it. I think a lot of us who are a little bit older, it harkens back to our childhood.

I think even for the younger fans, if you don’t know his backstory, you see this menacing guy—he might be in his 50s right now, but he’s still in incredible shape—the muscles are still bulging.
