Goldberg Won’t Retire After Facing Gunther, Says His Son

Goldberg WWE Elimination Chamber

Although WWE advertised Goldberg’s upcoming match as his final, the WWE Hall of Famer’s son believes otherwise.

After they almost came to blows at Bad Blood last October, Goldberg returned last week on RAW to confront Gunther and challenge him for the World Heavyweight Championship.

The match was later made official for Saturday Night’s Main Event next month in the wrestling legend’s hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.

Da Man had not competed inside a WWE ring since 2022, when he lost to Roman Reigns in a Universal Championship match at Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia.

Goldberg’s son, Gage, recently addressed his father’s wrestling future in a recent interview with Bill Apter for Sportskeeda. He revealed that he believes Goldberg would return to the ring again after facing Gunther, despite WWE labeling the upcoming clash as his retirement match.

I couldn’t even tell you because he has, I wish I had his confidence, 100%. Because he has like, anything can happen to him, and it would just go right over his head. He is still confident as ever, and win or lose, he is gonna get the itch again that he wants to stay in the ring.

Goldberg Responded To Criticism Over His WWE Comeback

Following Goldberg’s return, several fans and experts have criticized the company’s decision to have the WWE Hall of Famer challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship.

In a recent interview with JAKIB Sports, the 58-year-old defended himself against accusations he skipped the line to a title shot. He claimed he had earned it due to his career achievements.

I was 176-0. I don’t have to stand in freaking line. I don’t think so either, yeah, exactly.

Goldberg is set to break a historic WWE record if he succeeds in dethroning Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
