Goldberg Teases Timeframe For Final WWE Match

Goldberg

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg will have his last match in 2025 and now he’s revealed when fans are likely to see him in the ring one last time.

Just before WWE Crown Jewel went on the air in November, Goldberg announced his intention to return to the ring for a retirement match in 2025.

The veteran hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by Roman Reigns in February 2022, while he later claimed he was screwed out of a promised farewell by Vince McMahon.

The announcement came after the WWE Hall of Famer got into an altercation with Gunther at Bad Blood. With Goldberg positioned in the crowd, the World Heavyweight Champion took the opportunity to throw some verbal jabs his way, telling him he hoped he was a better father than he was a wrestler. At this, the former WCW World Champion tried to jump the barricade to get at Gunther but security intervened to keep the peace.

And now it seems Goldberg has let slip when his final match is to take place.

Goldberg Gearing Up For Summer Match

Speaking on his CarCast podcast, Goldberg explained he cut out smokeless tobacco and fixed his eating habits before undergoing stem cell treatment. The WWE Hall of Famer also gave away that his last match will be in the summer:

I feel like a trillion bucks. Whether it’s from the stuff that I altered my life prior or the stem cell treatment after a day. I feel like a million bucks, comparatively. You have to be logical, but it’s like you’re a racehorse again, and you’re being held in a stall, and you can’t come out for a period of time.

I have a match sometime this summer. I don’t know exactly when it is, but I know it’s coming up and I know at 58 years old I have to be in my underwear in front of everybody and I hold a very high standard of myself. I need to get to work yesterday. The long-term benefit and the benefit for me in the ring will be much more if I just calm my ass down.

Although nothing is confirmed, the summer date might point to Goldberg’s retirement match taking place at SummerSlam. For the first time ever, SummerSlam will take place as a two-night event on August 2 and 3 in the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
