Goldberg Makes Stunning Claim Ahead Of WWE Retirement Match
Goldberg returned to WWE on the latest episode of WWE RAW and challenged Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship.
The WWE Hall of Famer will take on The Ring General at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12th, 2025. The feud is a continuation of the confrontation that happened at Bad Blood 2025.
This is will be Da Man’s retirement match, and it is highly likely he will not dethrone Gunther. Otherwise, WWE will have to let him retire with the World Heavyweight Championship.
Goldberg believes he is better than the 99%
The WWE Hall of Famer is 20 years older than Gunther. The Ring General has been active during the years that Goldberg wasn’t.
However, even at 58 years old, The Hall of Famer is muscular, has a great physique, and of course, comes with years of experience. During an interview with Dan Sileo, he claimed that he was better than 99% of pricks on the planet.
At 58 years old, if I have to go in there hobbled, if I have to go in there 30 pounds lighter—I don’t give a [__] because I have a point to make. And, you know, at 58 years old, can I still make that point? I don’t know. But I’m going to do my best. And my best is 99. My best—50% of me—is better than 99% of the pricks on the planet. I believe it is.

He also revealed that his final match, as per the contract, was against Roman Reigns in Saudi Arabia. However, he had just recovered from COVID during that time, and wasn’t at his best. Hence, he feels that wasn’t the best way to leave the industry.
