Goldberg’s Son Played Role In Preparing Dad For WWE Final Match
Goldberg worked his retirement match against Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12th, 2025.
The WWE Hall of Famer had challenged The Ring General for the World Heavyweight Championship, and fans weren’t sure if Da Man would retire with the title.
Gunther retained the championship by putting Goldberg in a Sleeper Choke hold.
Gage Goldberg helped his father on the day of SNME
The Hall of Famer’s son has been an important factor in the final phase of his in-ring career. Gage continued to be a part of segments during the build-up and even at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
While speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Senior Editor Bill Apter, Gage revealed that he took a walk with his father ahead of the match and helped calm him down ahead of the bout against Gunther.
I was talking with my dad for like a couple of hours about the match and how he was getting ready for it and everything. There was definitely some nerves, for sure, because every time my dad gets ready to go wrestle or do something big he gets a nervous and anger mixture, and I’m kinda there to calm him down a little bit.
Goldberg’s retirement speech was cut off from being broadcast, which triggered the Hall of Famer to make negative remarks about the global juggernaut. It is believed that Gage Goldberg might end up paying for it.
