Goldberg’s Son Apologizes On Behalf Of Father After WWE Retirement Match

Gage Goldberg and Goldberg

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg faced World Heavyweight Champion Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event for his retirement match.

The match was a spectacle of power and athleticism, and kept everyone at the edge of their seat about the ending.

Finally, The Ring General was able to secure the victory by putting Da Man in a Sleeper Choke.

Goldberg’s son apologized to the WWE official after the match

During the match, the WWE Hall of Famer showcased some of his trademark moves. One such was the Spear, but in the concluding moments, it was referee Charles Robinson who bore the brunt of a lethal Spear.

Despite it being a scripted moment, Robinson had suffered a broken rib. While speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Senior Editor Bill Apter, Gage Goldberg revealed that he learnt about the broken rib on social media, and apologized to him on his father’s behalf.

Oh yeah, I did [talk to Charles Robinson]. He actually broke his rib. I saw on his Instagram he broke his rib. I had to say sorry to him just for my dad. Charles is bada**. He’s taken the spear from him, and he took it like a champ, I will say. Big kudos to him.

Gage himself was involved in a ringside segment during the match. Gunther shoved him after a confrontation, and Gage Goldberg jumped the barricade to avenge himself. However, the security team immediately interfered and stopped the situation from escalating.
