Goldberg Says He’s Earned World Title Shot, Fires Back At WWE Legend
Goldberg will have his retirement match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12th, 2025.
Da Man returned to WWE TV on the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, and interrupted Gunther’s segment. He appreciated The Ring General for dethroning Jey Uso, but challenged him for the World Heavyweight Championship as well.
The feud was initially teased at Bad Blood when Gunther’s remarks resulted in a confrontation with the WWE Hall of Famer.
Goldberg believes he doesn’t need to stand in line for a world championship match
The WWE Hall of Famer remains a pioneer of the industry despite not being active. He has contributed massively to the growth of WWE, and has an u defeated record.
He returned to WWE, and challenged The Ring General for the World Heavyweight Championship. Usually, challengers need to earn the title shot, and that’s what Bully Ray highlighted that Da Man did not need to wait in line.
Goldberg responded to the comment during a conversation with JAKIB Sports, revealing that his 176-0 record doesn’t require him to stand in line.
I was 176-0. I don’t have to stand in freaking line. I don’t think so either, yeah, exactly. So Bully Ray can bite me. I could care, but everybody’s got an opinion, and Bully Ray has a podcast that’s about wrestling, right? So of course he’s going to chime in and give his two cents. I love him to death and I respect his opinion, but his opinion is like an a******—everybody’s got one, right? So that’s fine.

Goldberg’s retirement match being a world championship match can be an indication the Hall of Famer will not win it, since he possibly cannot retire with the title.
