Goldberg Makes Surprising Revelation About Relationship With The Rock

As he gets ready for his final WWE match, Goldberg has revealed the status of his relationship with his first opponent in the company, The Rock.

Goldberg recently returned to WWE to confront World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. A match was made between the two men for Saturday Night’s Main Event, which coincidentally takes place on the night AEW presents All In Texas.

WWE has confirmed that the match will be Goldberg’s last ever as he looks to break the record for the oldest world title winner in company history.

But back in 2003, Goldberg’s stint in WWE was just beginning. One night after WrestleMania 19, Goldberg shocked the world when he burst into the company and declared, “You’re next!” to The Rock. The two men then met at Backlash with the former WCW World Champion picking up the win.

Goldberg Reveals The Rock’s Generous Gesture

Speaking on The National Football Show, Goldberg revealed that despite not having spoken to The Rock for a long time, there was one thing The Great One did before they ever met that means he has a friend for life:

We’re cool, man. I haven’t spoken to him in years. I love him to death, you know. There’s the story of him reaching out and asking if I wanted him to check on my mom during one of the hurricanes, before we had even met in person.

So, for that gesture, I’ll always be a Rock fan, not to mention the fact that he’s extremely talented and extremely successful in everything he’s done. He sets the bar higher for guys like me and the people that would follow in his footsteps.
