Goldberg Struggling To Control Himself Ahead Of Retirement Match
Goldberg has been training to get in shape for his in-ring return.
Ahead of the Crown Jewel event last year, the 58-year-old had announced that he would wrestle in a retirement match in 2025. There is no report verifying who his opponent will be, although Goldberg confirmed the match will take place in the summer.
Goldberg last appeared on WWE during the Bad Blood pay-per-view in October 2024, where he confronted the then-World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, sparking a potential clash with the Austrian.
The WWE Hall of Famer recently took part in a CarCast podcast, providing an update about his training.
I feel a little bit better, I’ve gained a little bit of weight man. Done a little kickboxing on the weekends. I’m getting there man, I’ve got a little bit of time left. Slowly but surely, Rome wasn’t built in a day.
Goldberg also claimed he is aching to get back into the ring and is free of injuries.
Goldberg Likens His Training To Rebuilding A Car
On the podcast, Goldberg also shared his struggles with his shoulder. He likened his training sessions to rebuilding a car.
I mean, geez, I can do things with it — I couldn’t do anything with it in December. It’s one of those things — it’s like rebuilding a car. You’ve got to strip it down to the bare minimum and sequentially build it in a logical form. It applies with a vehicle, it applies with your body. I can’t get overzealous and put s**t on before it’s time. It’s a very slow process but I think the way I’m going about it is hopefully gonna work.”
The former champion also spoke about getting his son, Gage, into wrestling. Gage had famously attacked Bobby Lashley in a kayfabe storyline at SummerSlam 2021 before being put into the Hurt Lock by Lashley.
