Goldberg Reveals WWE Retirement Match Date Is Set

Goldberg's WCW Streak Revealed

Goldberg has provided various updates about his preparations for his retirement match.

The former WWE Champion is keeping his fans updated through media appearances and his CarCast podcast.

During his recent chat on the show, Goldberg claimed that he has learned about the date of his retirement match, while it has yet to be made public.

He also provided updates regarding his training, during which he injured himself multiple times, although nothing worrisome.

Previously, Goldberg had shared how he had gained weight during his time away from the company and faced struggles with his shoulder. He had then expressed his desire to have his retirement match in Israel.

He had briefly paused his training due to not feeling well.

I know the date (of my retirement match). No one else knows the date public-wise, and so, at my age, you obviously have to do a lot of different things to get yourself prepared for what I’m about to embark upon and I mean, it’s uncharted water because not many people my age have done this, and I’m not just showing up to show up.

I hurt myself a couple times in the past three months. But, I pulled back and it’s really tough to have the mentality I do but to have the body that I do now, with the mileage on it and then go into the Muay Thai gym and hit the pads and not go crazy and then blow (your) shoulder out and blow your bicep out and pull your hamstring from throwing a high kick.

I’ve got a very high bar to set that I set for myself and 99 times out of a hundred, it’s unrealistic.

I gained some good weight. I was almost up to 270 and I had to back off because I could not function. I just couldn’t do it. I felt horrible, I wasn’t able to move around. I (was) just sluggish, you know? And so, I changed the diet back a little bit.

The WWE Hall of Famer said that he has a knee issue, which limits his running potential.

I’m extremely limited because of my left knee. I can’t run. I mean, I can run but, it hurts. So I’m not gonna exacerbate the pain by going out and running.

Goldberg Names Stars Who Impress Him

In an earlier chat on CarCast, Goldberg shared his impression of various stars on the roster.

While he does not watch the shows exclusively, Goldberg stays up to date with the business and its employees.

I think one guy who’s really doing well… what’s his name… married to Becky Lynch… (‘Seth Rollins?’) – Seth, yeah. Seth’s grown so much in this business over the past 10 years. Randy Orton’s obviously Randy frickin’ Orton. The lineage speaks for itself. Cody Rhodes, he’s done unbelievable in the past. Logan Paul, to be able to come in and not be someone from the business and to be able to pick it up so quickly and to be innovative a the same time. I was new, I was from the outside, so I get it. Steiner’s kid (Bron Breakker), frickin’ doing unbelievable.

With full details about his retirement set to be released soon, speculation has arisen about him facing Gunther. The duo had faced off during Bad Blood PLE in October last year.
